~ And Race Against Racism! ~

They should have seen this one coming.

Well, WGAL gets clever with the news and yes, indeed, they should have seen this one coming…

City inspectors in Philadelphia have made a series of surprise visits, citing the shops of psychics, astrologers, phrenologists and tarot-card readers who charge money for their services.

Licenses and Inspections Department Deputy Commissioner Dominic Verdi said the agency was just recently alerted to a state law that’s been on the books for more than 30 years, making fortunetelling “for gain or lucre” a third-degree misdemeanor.

Hmmm.  I think someone got a bad tarot-card reading!

Speaking of seeing things coming, this man just ain’t smart:

On a tip from a anonymous source, has learned that Terminated Police Officer William Meyers carried a gun, badge, and police ID into the Lancaster County Courthouse a few weeks ago in what appeared to be a custody/ divorce hearing.

Someone tell this guy he’s not a cop!

And don’t try to get crap past Artie See.  The Intell quoted Ted Darcus, the LCCCA Chairman, about his resignation as follows:

"Once the financing (for the hotel/convention center) was complete, my term as chair had run its course," Darcus said after the authority's board of directors meeting in Southern Market Center.

    To which Artie posted this:

What a bunch of crap. Darcus wants to get out of the way as quickly as he can, so someone else can take the blame for the inevitable crisis that lies ahead.
Reporter Bernard Harris must have had today’s Race Against Racism on his mind when he wrote a touchy feely piece about Darcus for yesterday’s New Era:

Traveling with his high school teams, he remembers times when he could not eat in the same restaurants or stay in the same hotels as his white teammates.

"I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end of things that I had to go through as a young man with ignorance and racism," Darcus said.

Well, that would make an excellent article but I don’t know what it has to do with the convention center and $20 million spent on a hole in the ground.

WGAL says this about the LCCCA meeting and the $7 million paid to the law firm of Stevens & Lee:

Convention center authority board member Laura Douglas said she wants the bills to be broken down so it's clear how the authority spent the more than $7 million generated from the hotel room tax.

"We have nothing to show for it but a hole in the ground. All of that money has been thrown away and we can't figure out on what, what we've gotten for our money," said Douglas.

Eight years!  Someone should have seen this coming!

RACE AGAINST RACISM and please check back on Monday.

Franklin & Marshall College, a liberal arts college in Lancaster, Pa., annually gives an award named after an incest perpetrator and academic fraud.  The president of the college, John A. Fry, doesn’t care about sexual abuse.  He doesn’t care if your daughter or son is sexually abused.

Do not send your children to this over-priced college that condones the sexual abuse of children. They will not be safe.  See below and click here for the Incest Story.

~ Listen, President Fry ~

A 27-year-old Millersville University graduate filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against the college for denying her an education degree and teaching certificate after a controversial Internet photograph surfaced last year shortly before graduation.

The picture shows Stacy Snyder of Strasburg wearing a pirate hat while drinking from a plastic "Mr. Goodbar" cup. The photograph taken during a 2005 Halloween party was posted on Snyder's MySpace Web page with the caption "Drunken Pirate."

“Web photo haunts graduate,” this morning’s Intell (click here).

This, of course, is the hottest topic on the Lancaster Online forum and is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.  But compare this to Franklin & Marshall College giving an annual award in the name of an incest perpetrator.  It is simply unbelievable.

I am still waiting for a call-back from College President John A. Fry.

Meanwhile the papers have been full of sexual abuse horror stories.

A 35-year-old Lancaster city man convicted in 2005 of having one of the largest child pornography collections in county history will remain in prison for at least another three months, a judge ruled Friday.

While in therapy at T.W. Ponessa & Associates, Spedden admitted having sex with at least 10 children between the ages of 2 and 15 while on parole, although the crimes went unreported to police.

“Spedden ordered to stay in jail,” Intell, April 21, 2007 (click here).

As noted here in prior articles, and again under this one, a poster on the Talkback forum said this:

His dad is CREEPY. I'm sure Andy was molested by his father as a young boy. Everyone in the neighborhood knew to stay clear of him. And now we see the results.

That, President Fry, is also why my brother is a pedophile.  Why haven’t the Lancaster Newspapers explored this side of the story and why isn’t his father in jail?  Does Andy remember his own sexual abuse?  Does he acknowledge abuse by his father?

"The Church's efforts to combat this evil internally will hopefully shine a light on this dark corner also in the wider society," Rhoades said. He said the bishops have launched an effort to educate parishioners about Internet child pornography. He called it a problem that is "growing exponentially" in society, estimating one in five children are solicited sexually while on the Internet.

“Bishops say claims of sex abuse decline,” Intell, April 25, 2007 (click here).

Yes, the problem of child abuse in this society is horrendous, President Fry, and incest, although rarely mentioned, is a huge contributor to the problem.  Let me remind people again that the website, Survivors of Incest Anonymous, says this:

There is, on the average, a visitor to this site every 7 minutes…
24 hours a day,  7 days a week
There are a lot of survivors in the world.

"It was a pleasure to see him in shackles," Mrs. Serrano said. "Very few get to see the perpetrator (of abuse) in chains since very few go to jail."

“Parents of abuse victim to speak at local church,” April 25, 2007 (click here).

This needs to change and the parents mentioned above spoke last night and said this:

The Serranos hope to get the statute of limitations for sexual abuse dropped — as it has been for murder — because this is a "soul murder. It's the death of a soul."

“A crusade against abuse,” today’s Intell (click here).

It kills the soul and also continues the cycle of abuse.  These laws must be changed.  As noted here long ago the current prevailing ruling regarding the civil statute of limitations in childhood sexual abuse cases involving repressed memory is based on this:

DALRYMPLE v. BROWN, (Pa. 1997)

“Under application of the objective standard it would be absurd to argue that a reasonable person, even assuming for the sake of argument, a reasonable six year old, would repress the memory of a touching so that no amount of diligence would enable that person to know of the injury.”

As I noted previously, ninety-nine percent of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and mental health professionals would disagree with the above statement.  This ruling will fall shortly.

There will be much more on this next week.  Tomorrow there will be a news round-up – and I’ll let you know if I’ve heard from President Fry…

“The Serranos hope to get the statute of limitations for sexual abuse dropped…”

August 13, 2003

Dear Ms. Holzinger:

President Fry has asked me to respond to your letter of August 6, 2003.  The issues you raise in that letter are very serious and must be dealt with in the first instance by you, your father and the proper authorities.  The College cannot take any action at this time.

P. Bruce Pipes

Provost and Dean of Faculty

Almost four years ago, Franklin & Marshall College thought they could brush me off with this absurd, nonsensical, three sentence reply to my letter to President John A  Fry.

Not anymore.  The idea that a liberal arts institution of higher education would not immediately pull this award is just scary.  It’s also scary and absurd that I have to go to these lengths to make educators realize you don’t give an award named after an incest perpetrator.

I am still awaiting a call back from President Fry, but in the meantime, I am advising major media outlets about this situation and I have advised Mr. Fry, via email, that this will remain at the top of this site and until the award is removed:

Franklin & Marshall College, a liberal arts college in Lancaster, Pa., annually gives an award named after an incest perpetrator and academic fraud.  The president of the college, John A. Fry, doesn’t care about sexual abuse.  He doesn’t care if your daughter or son is sexually abused.

~ And Shameful Newspapers! ~

Can you tell New Era Editor Ernie Schreiber is one of 174 weirdos and perverts in Lancaster County who attends the Lancaster Friends Meeting (Quakers) with my parents?  Oops, I’m sorry.  My pedophile brother is included in that number and he’s in Africa, and prior to that lived in Canada for twenty years, so I doubt he attends on a regular basis.  We’re down to 173 weirdos and perverts.

Yes, this morning’s Intell has two major articles on childhood sexual abuse and I will get to them tomorrow.  Yesterday, I wrote about Franklin & Marshall College continuing to give an award named for an incest perpetrator and academic fraud and today Ernie runs a feel good story about – you guessed it – Franklin & Marshall College.

Not one of the papers wrote one word about my lawsuit against my parents.  That’s because Ernie quakes with them and President John A. Fry was on the LCCCA board at the time.  What great unbiased newspapers!  What a great public service they provide.  What a great editor Ernie is!

I have a call in to F&M President Fry to ask him why an educational institution continues to give an award named after an incest perpetrator.   I was told he is “traveling” until Friday but apparently picking up messages.  Bernard Harris managed to reach him yesterday for Ernie’s feel good story, “College Row takes shape.”

Someone named “Ernie Schreiber” showed up on the Lancaster Talkback forum both yesterday and today – and I assume it’s really him or the moderators would quickly boot the imposter’s butt.  But what do you suppose Schreiber is up to?  Is he trying to mingle with the little people, is he looking for love or is he a cyberstalker?

Which reminds me, the Lancaster Newspapers have not done one story about Steven Markle, the “Crow,” and the fact that county detectives seized his computers.  But then, once again, it involves me, Ron Harper, Jr. and former Intell reporter Justin Quinn.  What great unbiased newspapers!  What a great editor Ernie is!

While I’m on the subject of forums and cyberstalkers, I found this on the Philadelphia Craig’s List:

Looking for bloggers to post comments on a celebrity website (AccessGossip )... 25 to 50 words and we pay .10 cents per posting..payable via paypal as soon as you post will receive $5.00 right away..posting must pertain to that may post on any celebrity ...

Yes, for the Talkbacker who has the tag line “Will Post for Food,” they really do pay you to post but you sure aren’t going to be able to buy much food.  This shouldn’t surprise anyone - but to those who take anonymous posters on forums too seriously, beware.  The more I learn about the Lancaster Talkback forum and people who have multiple accounts and have posted under numerous names - it just makes me shake my head and howl at how gullible we all are and the games that are played!

Forums are exploding everywhere and the competition is fierce.  Obviously the owner of the very new site in the ad above wants it to appear to be active and exciting and draw other posters so his traffic increases and he can sell advertising.   That’s how the game is played.  It’s all about traffic.

Well, I need to go and make 50 posts on so I can buy a hot dog!  I hope Alec Baldwin is on the celebrity list!  Do you think I’ll find posts by “Ernie” there?

Please check back tomorrow for something more serious.

~ F&M – Do The Right Thing! ~

Thank you.  Could you please explain, or tell me who could, why a liberal arts college is giving an award in the name of an incest perpetrator and academic fraud?  Mr. Fry was made aware of this three years ago.

Thank you,

I sent this email to Marcy Dubroff, Associate Director of the Office of College Communications for Franklin & Marshall College, this morning.  Yesterday, after my request last week, she emailed me the name of this year’s recipient of the Charles H. Holzinger Anthropology Award.

Her reply to my request above today was this:

Hi Becky,

I'm sorry. I don't have any information on how the awards are selected, etc.  I can certainly pass along your email to Pres. Fry again, if you like.

    My reply today was this:

    Yes, please do that.

Thank you,

Here we go again.  For three years this expensive, well-known and academically acclaimed liberal arts college has been aware that my father is an incest perpetrator and an academic fraud.  And they have not done one thing about the award.  Not one thing.  Can you image?

Two years ago, in late April of 2005, I published this on the “old” LIP News site:

As reported here yesterday, I spoke to Keith Orris, the Secretary of Franklin & Marshall College yesterday by phone regarding the Charles H. Holzinger Anthropology Award.  His response to every single question was, “It’s a very personal, family issue.  It is not an issue for the college to be involved with.”

I sent him the following email yesterday afternoon.

From the New Era, April 27, 2005 – “One in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually assaulted by age 18, according to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape.”   THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL, FAMILY ISSUE.  THIS IS A HUGE, SOCIETAL PROBLEM AND A CRIME.  YOU WOULD THINK A COLLEGE WOULD BE IN THE FOREFRONT TO STOP THIS SOCIETAL TRAGEDY.  THIS IS SIMPLY A DISGRACE.”

The link to the article mentioned in the New Era  is here.   Linda Crockett is quoted as follows:  “Many of the women who call say they are trying to talk about the abuse in therapy, and the counselor doesn’t want to talk about it.  It’s even a frightening thing for some counselors to deal with.”

“I’ve talked to women in their 60s who never told a soul about abuse by somebody in their family, but there are trails (of turmoil) throughout their whole lives.”

I documented those trails of turmoil in my paper, Mr. Orris.  This is fact - my one brother molested both of his other brothers, one “criminally” at the age of 13.  Why don’t you go to your Psychology Department or your Sociology Department or even your Anthropology Department, Mr. Orris, and see what they say about that?  This is not just about me being abused, but my siblings as well, and the incest in my family has gone on to the second generation.   This is a tragedy.

Why in the world would Franklin & Marshall College continue to grant a Charles H. Holzinger Anthropology Award?  Society needs to say incest and sexual abuse are wrong.  Franklin & Marshall College needs to say incest and sexual abuse are wrong in the strongest terms.  They need to do it now.

Please check back tomorrow.
